Hyperon single-particle potentials and effective masses are explored using the nuclear matter <it>G</it>-matrix theory starting from the Nijmegen OBE models. Those of hyperons (Λ, Σ and Ξ) in symmetric matter and neutron matter are calculated to high densities. The results are discussed with regard to the <it>YN</it> interactions and also with regard to the experimental results in the case of Λ. Similar calculations are performed for hyperonic neutron matter, which is composed of neutrons and hyperons (Λ, Σ− or Ξ−). The roles of <it>Yn</it> and <it>YY</it> interactions are discussed.
