Abstract FeCl3 immobilized on Al-MCM-41 was found to be an efficient catalytic system for the one-pot synthesis of 3,4-dihyropyrimidinone derivatives. This is a facile and high-yielding reaction for synthesis of the 3,4-dihyropyrimidinone. The catalyst exhibited remarkable reactivity and is reusable.
