<i>E</i> → <i>Z</i>‐Photoisomerization of a Diphosphene on Carbonylmetal Complexes (M Cr, Mo, W)

Abstract

The barrier for rotation in diphosphenes is lowered by complex formation. Thus the irradiation of complexes 1, M = Cr, Mo, W, resuts in E → Z isomerization of the diphosphene ligand. 2 is the first example of a (Z)-diphosphene as ligand in a mononuclear carbonylmetal complex.
