LCHAD deficiency often presents with a combination of chronic nonspecific symptoms. Early diagnosis is difficult in the absence of the classical metabolic derangement. Survival can be improved by prompt diagnosis, but morbidity remains alarmingly high despite current therapeutic regimes.
