Abstract This study used a minimal pairs paradigm to assess auditory discrimination skills with four groups of children: pre‐school and school‐age children with articulatory defects, and pre‐school and school‐age normal speaking children. The aim was to show how the discriminatory abilities of the groups compared with each other.
