SUMMARY. The epidermal mitotic rate in psoriatic lesions is 3 or 4 times greater than that in normal epidermis as established by using 0.5% colcemid effective during a 5 hr. period. The mitotic duration in psoriasis is about 4 hr. compared with the normal 11/2hr. The colcemid mitotic rate in various forms of ichthyosis was found to be within the range of normal.
