Abstract

Although rare, gastrointestinal bleeding in patients with STEMI significantly prolongs intensive care unit stay and increases mortality. Previous gastrointestinal bleeding, impaired renal function, and Killip class IV at presentation are associated with higher incidence of gastrointestinal bleeding.
