Antisera specific to ovine FSH, LH and prolactin were prepared. A single dose of each of the antisera was injected into Swiss mice 5 days after birth, and ovarian development studied on 7, 14, 21 and 28 days of age. Some of the animals were allowed to mature and their fertility was studied. The results suggest that deprivation of either FSH or LH but not prolactin during the neonatal period, severely inhibited follicular development and antrum formation on Day 14 of age. Further, the fertility of AS-FSH or LH treated animals was impaired.
