A Concise and Flexible Total Synthesis of (−)‐Diazonamide A

Abstract

The remarkable action of an IIII species on a tripeptide containing acyclic tyrosine/tryptophan is the key step in a total synthesis of (−)-diazonamide A. The completed preparation of this new antimitotic is concise, multiply convergent, and amenable to diversification of intermediates.
