SYNTHESIS OF SOME PYRIDO[2,3-d]PYRIMIDINE DERIVATIVES AND THEIR ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY

Abstract

2-Amino-3-cyano-4,6-disubstituted pyridines were condensed with carbondisulfide, thiourea, urea and formamide to obtain 5,7-disubstituted pyrido [2,3-d] Structural assignments were made on the basis of analytical and spectral data. All the synthesized compounds were screened for their antimicrobial evaluation against a number of bacteria and fungi and were found to be moderately active.
