Is Prehypertension a Risk Factor for Cardiovascular Diseases?

Abstract

Prehypertension appears to be associated with an increased risk of MI and CAD but not stroke. Further studies are required to confirm the anticipated benefits of identifying and intervening in persons with prehypertension.
