Abstract

Color vision: Multicolor molecular beacons are constructed from relatively large gold nanoparticles self-assembled with stem–loop probes and helper oligonucleotides (see picture). The nanobeacons can respond differentially to multiple DNA targets, emitting multiple colors. Detailed facts of importance to specialist readers are published as ”Supporting Information”. Such documents are peer-reviewed, but not copy-edited or typeset. They are made available as submitted by the authors.
