This comprehensive >1,000‑page monograph reviews major ore‑producing countries, positioning it as a key reference for geologic research libraries. The book features a frontispiece.
Following in the footsteps of other landmark reviews of major ore-producing countries such as Australia (Hughes, 1990; Solomon and Groves, 1994) and South Africa (Anhaeusser and Maske, 1986), this substantial (>1,000 pages) monograph is a great achievement that should be in every geologic research library in the world. In many ways it sets a new standard, most notably in that all figures and photographs are in color and that the entire volume is available in electronic form, both as an included DVD and (mostly) on the GAC website. It is common in such compendia to have a spectacular cover photo or frontispiece to catch the reader’s attention, and this book does not disappoint.
