Three new cases of primary pulmonary artery sarcoma are presented. Progressive right heart failure is the predominant clinical manifestation. Pathologic examination reveals sarcomas of various mesenchymal elements producing occlusion and distension of the pulmonary arteries. These sarcomas frequently produce the characteristic radiographic finding of a lobulated hilar mass projecting into lung parenchyma in a lobar or segmental pulmonary artery distribution. Associated changes in pulmonary artery perfusion can be demonstrated on radionuclide scanning and pulmonary arteriography.
