This paper considers the admissibility and robustness of uncertain discrete-time fuzzy descriptor systems. The general definition of admissibility for the nonlinear fuzzy descriptor systems given here includes the regularity, stability and causality together, it embodies the homologous relationship between the overall system and the subsystems. The robust admissibility of the uncertain discrete-time fuzzy descriptor systems is analyzed in terms of matrix norm. Furthermore, a relaxed criterion is derived to guarantee the admissibility of the closed-loop uncertain discrete-time fuzzy descriptor system, by this criterion the fuzzy controller can be designed systematically. An example is given to show the results presented in this paper.
