The American Art Therapy Association (AATA) surveys its members biennially to collect data regarding membership demographics as well as variables concerning the work environment for art therapists. These surveys can provide a detailed description of these characteristics and how they may change over time. This article statistically compares the results of the 2013 AATA membership survey with responses obtained during 2011, as well as comparing results, when possible, of the 2013 survey to those obtained in 2007 and 1999. These latter comparisons give a more detailed and longitudinal description of AATA membership, showing that general demographics and many work-related characteristics of art therapists have remained fairly stable for the past 15 years.
