A novel one pot synthesis of 14-aryl-14H-dibenzo[a,j]xanthenes catalyzed by SelectfluorTM under solvent free conditions

Abstract

A novel procedure for the synthesis of aryl-14H-dibenzo[a,j]xanthenes through one-pot condensation of -naphthol with aryl aldehydes in the presence of selectfluor TM [1-(chloromethyl)-4-fluoro-1,4-diazoniabicyclo[2.2.2]octane bis(tetrafluoroborate)] as catalyst under solvent free conditions is described.
