The Aetiology of “Sideropenic” Web

Abstract

We have described three cases of crico-pharyngeal web not associated with iron deficiency, discovered on routine barium swallows in the thyroid clinic. It is suggested that there is an association between cricopharyngeal web and thyroid disease. An association which, as far as we know, has not previously been commented upon. We are unable, at the present time, to explain this association.
