Abstract

A simple solution to a long-standing problem: The hydrochlorination of unactivated alkenes, which is shown in the Scheme, is catalyzed by simple cobalt complexes and proceeds under very mild conditions. The ready availability of all components and the ease of execution render the method very convenient.
