High glucose increases growth and collagen synthesis in cultured human tubulointerstitial cells

Abstract

Exposure of human PTCs and CFs to high extracellular glucose concentrations results directly in altered cell growth and collagen synthesis that is independent of haemodynamic, glomerular or vascular pathology.
