Abstract

The main control strategy for permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) in wind power system is vector control rather than direct torque control (DTC) or direct power control (DPC). This paper do detail job to analyze the custom PMSG vector control strategy, point out characteristics for each current control scheme, expatiated on restrictions of generator side converter control. Based on improve efficiency, and maximize generator speed for maximum power point track (MPPT), a suitable current control strategy for PMSG in wind power system is designed. Also a simple unit power factor (UPF) control method is implemented to improve capability of converter. At last, the designed scheme is verified by simulation.
