Abstract The liquid–liquid extraction of copper(II) with Schiff's bases from salicylaldehyde and aniline and its derivatives in chloroform is studied. Slope analysis results are consistent with the extraction of copper(II) as complexes of the type CuL2(HL). Their extraction constants show dependence on the position of substituent present on the aniline ring. Keywords: Liquid–liquid extractionSchiff's baseCopper(II)SalicylaldehydeAnilineSubstituent
