One on one: A combination of steric effects and MN interactions of a rigid NCN pincer ligand allows the isolation and characterization of monomeric stibinidene and bismuthinidene compounds. The structure and bonding was confirmed by crystallographic studies (see picture; Sb or Bi yellow, N blue) and calculations.
