Abstract

A full-wave analysis of frequency selective surfaces (FSS) supported by both electrically and magnetically anisotropic substrate is presented. The analytical procedure is based on Galerkin's method applied in the spectral domain, and the spectral Green's function for the considered structure is formulated based on Maxwell's equations directly. A series of FSS with different medium parameters, due to the rotation of the principal axes in the transverse plane, are computed efficiently, the effects of the rotation of principal axes on the resonance of the FSS are examined as functions of the rotation angle. Numerical results exhibit the influence of the electrical and magnetic anisotropy on the electromagnetic characteristics of FSS.
