The solubility of salts and minerals in superheated steam at high pressures is of importance to geologists in their attempts to interpret and explain the genesis of pneumatolytic and vein deposits, and the experimental demonstration and measurement of such solubilities is of interest to them. The present paper describes an apparatus and a method which have been used for this purpose at temperatures up to 600 degrees C and at pressures up to 2,000 bars.
