Complex modes of propagation in dielectric-loaded circular waveguide

Computed results are presented for the two types of complex mode that exist in dielectric-loaded circular waveguide. The frequency dependence of attenuation and phase-change coefficients is shown for various values of dielectric loss. The implications of these results on devices employing this structure are discussed.
