SUMMARY A vervet monkey kidney cell line designated GL-V3 has been established. After 75 passages it still has the morphology of epithelial cells and its chromosome complement is aneuploid. Cultures of GL-V3 are susceptible to a wide range of viruses. No latent viruses were detected and the cells are not neoplastic when implanted in the cheek pouches of hamsters.
