Abstract

Serum levels of the interleukin-1 receptor family member ST2 predict mortality and heart failure in patients with acute myocardial infarction. These data suggest that ST2 may be a useful biomarker and that this novel inflammatory receptor may play a role in cardiac pathophysiology.
