Abstract

The use of Wilkinson's catalyst with diisopropylphosphinite ligands acting as cocatalysts allows the catalytic orthoarylation of phenols [Eq. (1)], a process that relies on a CH activation of a phenol that has been incorporated into the cocatalyst by transesterification.
