Abstract

A new soft-switched three-phase switched-reluctance motor drive circuit that uses only four transistors is proposed. The circuit produces less EMI due to the application of soft switching, and the output torque is increased by means of a shorter current tail. Moreover, because the proposed circuit utilizes only one series switching device between the DC source and the winding, system efficiency is also increased.
