The η-μ distribution: a general fading distribution

Abstract

This paper presents a general fading distribution-the /spl eta/-/spl mu/ distribution-that includes the one-sided Gaussian, the Rayleigh, and, more generally, the Nakagami (1960) distributions as special cases. The Rice and lognormal distributions may also be well-approximated by the /spl eta/-/spl mu/ distribution. Preliminary results show that the /spl eta/-/spl mu/ distribution provides a very good fitting to experimental data.
