Long-Term Functional Outcome of Low Anterior Resection With Colonic J-Pouch Reconstruction for Rectal Cancer in the Elderly

Abstract

Low anterior resection with colonic J-pouch reconstruction provides excellent functional outcome, including continence, for elderly patients. Colonic J-pouch reconstruction is a highly preferable alternative to permanent colostomy in elderly patients undergoing low anterior resection.
