Penetrating neck injuries: analysis of experience from a Canadian trauma centre.

Abstract

Penetrating neck trauma, in particular stab wounds to zone II in asymptomatic patients, is associated with low morbidity and mortality. A selective management protocol with investigations directed by symptoms is the most appropriate approach for the patient population and resource base in this setting.
