This paper presents a new technique for SAW filter design which enables optimization using nonlinear programming. developed for calculating the objective function gradient by FFT algorithm, which leads to fast convergence because that makes it possible to use the Oavidon Fletcher Powell method. This optimization method is particularly e ffective when designing for complex passband shapes, whose specifications in some parts are mre strict than in others. I n addition, a new finger electrode configuration is shown, and an approximation formula for compensating the d istributed electrode resistance effects is presented.
