JHK photometry of the final helium shell flash object V4334 Sagittarii undertaken during 1996–97 is presented in this paper. The data reveal the formation of circumstellar dust of temperature ∼ 1800 K two years after outburst. Around 5 × 10−10 M⊙ of dust condensed at a distance of about 7R⊬ from the star. The mass of V4334 Sgr is 0.8 M⊙ and it had a radius of ∼ 70 R⊙ in 1997 April–May.
