Abstract

Stress-energy density A theoreticai/anal ytical capability for prediction of buckling, p ostbuckling, and crippling ,af metal and composite shallow curved plates is presented. The theoretical model accounts for both geometric and material nonlinearities. The composite material formulation is valid fgr anisstropic lamina with the nonlinear behavior described by Ramberg-Osgood inplane and matrix stress-strain relations. Transverse shear effects are 4153 included. Correlations with available metai and composite experimental data confirm the accuracy qf the p resent approach.
