Abstract

Presentation of hospital-associated invasive group A streptococcal infections is diverse. Cross-transmission is common; illness occurs in patients but rarely in staff. Isolation of new cases of necrotizing fasciitis and intervention after a single nosocomial case may also prevent transmission.
