It is demonstrated that the investigation of the dependences of conductivity current on applied voltage and on polymer film thickness does not suffice to distinguish between the generation processes and SCL transport. It is suggested that such differentiation can be achieved by measurements of photoinjection carriers from a metal into a polymer, and the conductivity of the plasma polymerized hexamethyldisilazane films is analysed as an example. It is shown that in this material, in the entire range of fields (up to 4 × 108 V/m) and thicknesses (0.055 to 1.5 μm) employed the dominant process is bulk generation.
