Abstract

Intravenous clodronate therapy was effective in relieving the pain resulting from prostate cancer bone metastases in 10 of 27 patients but the benefit was shortlived. The use of a personal quality-of-life/activity questionnaire which assesses aspects of everyday life that are important to the patient may be more appropriate for patients with very advanced prostate cancer than are other quality-of-life questionnaires in current use.
