Abstract

• Orbital and extraocular muscle volumes were calculated from high-resolution computed tomographic scans in patients with Graves' ophthalmopathy. Total and individual extraocular muscle volumes were found to be increased, compared with controls. Only the medial and lateral muscle groups increased in volume proportional to the degree of ophthalmopathy.
