Waves with lengths near 2.44 cm are studied theoretically by means of both a classical perturbation technique and a wave number perturbation analysis. Singularities in the classical perturbation procedure at a wavelength of 2.44 cm are removed by the wave number perturbation, and more realistic wave profiles for wavelengths from 2.99 to 2.24 cm are found. The singularity in phase speed for waves of finite amplitude is also eliminated.
