Anomalous Stoichiometry, Layered Structure, and Magnetic Ordering for the Prussian Blue Analogue [NEt₄]₂[Mn^II₃(CN)₈]

Abstract

Unprecedented: Atypical of Prussian blue structured materials, MnII and [NEt4]CN react to form [NEt4]2Mn3(CN)8 possessing layers of octahedral [MnII(CN)6]4− bonded to two high-spin tetrahedral MnII sites (see structure; yellow and red Mn, black C, blue N).
