Abstract

A combination of deproteinization by ZnSO 4 and BaOH, and use of a butanol internal standard, permits gas–liquid chromatographic analysis of ethanol in blood, with high precision, in samples as small as 20–50 μl. Deproteinized samples gave stable values for up to 2 weeks if properly stored.
