40 GHz mode-locked SOA fiber ring laser with 20 nm tuning range

Abstract

A 2.5 ps pulse width, 40 GHz repetition rate, 20 nm tuning range, mode-locked fiber ring laser is presented. The source mode-locks through gain saturation of its SOA from an external 5 GHz DFB diode.
