PCR based identification and discrimination of agents of mucormycosis and aspergillosis in paraffin wax embedded tissue

Abstract

The two seminested PCR assays described here can support a histopathological diagnosis of mucormycosis or aspergillosis, and can identify the infective agent, thereby optimising antifungal treatment.
