Molecular iodine as a versatile reagent for Hantzsch synthesis of 2-aminothiazole derivatives

Abstract

Abstract A simple and facile synthesis of 2-aminothiazoles has been accomplished using molecular iodine catalyzed condensation of bromoketones with thiourea.
