Maximum Entropy Spectrum of Long-Period Polar Motion

Abstract

The maximum entropy spectra of various sets of ILS-IPMS data show a strong signal at 29·8 ± 2·3 yr which we interpret as a long-period term in the complex polar motion. The Qm of this signal is 7·6 ± 3·4 leading to a damping constant of 76 yr.
