Comparative trial of acyclovir and adenine arabinoside in the treatment of herpes simplex corneal ulcers.

Abstract

The antiviral acycloguanasine has been compared with adenine arabinoside in the topical treatment of herpes simplex comeal ulcers. It has been found to be at least as good in terms of rate of healing and resolution of symptoms, with ulcers healing in an average of 4-2 days on the acyclovir treatment compared with 6-3 days after adenine arabinoside.
