Abstract

In the absence of coronary artery disease, systemic hypertension, left ventricular systolic dysfunction, or hypertrophy, left ventricular relaxation assessed by the time constant of isovolumic pressure decay remains essentially unchanged with normal adult aging, at least until the eighth decade.
