In this paper, a compact double layer structure SIW crossed over waveguide directional coupler are proposed, simulated and experimentally verified. The wideband properties are obtained during the full wave simulation of the double layer structure with different coupling factors. Measurement results are also verified the wideband properties and the design goals. The wideband coupling and compact size characteristics make the proposed coupler well suitable in antenna feeding circuits and microwave power divider or combiner applications with multilayer SIW structures.
